Hot Dogs at D's Six Pack and Dogs

It’s not a big place, but it took my small brain two visits to figure out D's Six Pack and Dogz.

The first time, we walked right in and sat in front at the bar, just inside the door. It was easy. There was another bar next door (or so we thought), with doors opened to the sidewalk on a warm evening.

The bar is small and doubles as a lunch counter, behind which they do most (or all?) of the cooking.  We went for the dogs, so skipped the other menu categories. There’s a full bar, meaning spirits, wine, and beer. The selection was simple: a couple of vodkas, a couple of gins and tequilas, a handful of whiskeys. There’s something for everyone, but not a whole mess to wade through. I had a shot and a beer. We ordered some interesting dogs. We left. It was tasty, inexpensive, and easy.

The next time we went, we sat towards the back, at a high top against the wall opposite the bar. And we quickly discovered that this “other bar next door” was actually an extension of D’s. There’s a full dining room! It’s pretty sparse and simple, not quite as vibey as the front, but really the only place to go if you’re more than 2 or 3 people. I wandered through, and it was only then that I discovered the cages. An entire beer library, with single beers available for consumption, and six packs available for takeout (hence the name, now I get it!). Definitely worth checking out. Great selection of beers, better than most distributors offer.

We tried a few more menu items this time and everything went over well. Mac n cheese, onion rings, sweet potato fries. If you’re not in the mood for a dog, the wings are great. If you’re not a meat-eater, they have veggie dogs.

In short: Great beers, great dogs, friendly service, upbeat crowd. Me likey.

Your online concerns, addressed (they won't do it, but The Monster will):

"I was charged twice for the same order. Ordered online for pickup, and was charged at checkout, then checked out again when picking up my order.I’ve enjoyed this place in the past and the food is great, but this is inexcusable."

One Star

I'm trying to imagine that, when you alerted them to the double charge, they all gathered 'round and, in unison, they gave you the Evil Genius Laugh, something like a 'Mwahahahah.....' and then they told you, again in unison, to GTFO!!!

More likely though, they apologized and refunded your money. Or not. Maybe it was the first thing after all. Or maybe something in between the two? I don't know. Which one was it! This comment is incomplete... inexcusable.

"Pricy for a small dog! Maybe the other options are good but just go to Costco for a hotdog."

Three Stars

Costco has cheap food?! Call CNN, get the word out immediately. The public must be made aware!!
